Three quotes stand out for me from this paper:
1. "And my years of experience with applied statistics problems, sometimes applied to unmasking fake science studies."
2. "Fact: Failing to hold bad behavior accountable encourages it."
3. "Also fact: Failing to hold ambiguous behavior that might be bad accountable encourages bad actors to formulate narcissistic masks"
1. I'd like to see that process applied to all of science.
2. I think you mean Society failing to hold bad public behavior accountable encourages it. You and we don't have much practical opportunity to do that individually or in small groups. We need to build alternative societies or institutions that can do that effectively.
3. Same as #2.

And that's sort of what this substack is for: building alternative societies based on the New Testament and the Two Greatest Commandments. So this post is a reminder to myself that these new societies need to find ways to hold bad and ambiguous behavior accountable. Does someone already know how to do that? Of course, but we need to write down the best ways and make them our policies. But I don’t know yet when we need to do that. Do you?
Hi Len, the seeds for good and bad behaviour are already within us.
Changing society, changing the world . . . by changing ourselves, one step at the time
Cause of many mistakes lies, probably for most people, hidden in the unconscious.
So I invite readers to explore the writings of Raymond Lloyd Richmond, Ph.D.
