I live in Austria again. Before in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Two years in the U.S. but that's long ago. 1995/96 in Carbondale IL (east of you, I guess) and NY, 2000/2001 in New York City.
Thanks. I guess I am more involved with U.S. politics than our own (if anyone can say "own" at all). The nations have shown their predatorial teeth once again during these recent years.
We are reminded that they are not meant to remain in their positions of power.
As it stands, no one is going to change that. When the number is fulfilled, thrones will be overthrown. New ones set in position.
Hi. My pleasure. I was born in Austria. The ü causes the G to sound more like a K than a u would have. I guess, therefore Kinder (for Gunter). Ginter fell probably flat because of the Prohibition (or the ideas of it).
I think they changed the name around the mid to late 1800s. There were 3 brothers and 1 sister who came here from Uslar, Germany around 1840. One of them spelled the surname as Kinter for a while. Many Germans were settling this area then, from the St. Louis area and west along the Missouri River. I had 2 Hans cousins in Germany who have surely died by now. I used to mail one of them. When did you leave Austria?
PS, the cousin I wrote to looked up the original meaning of Gu"nther. He said it meant noble warrior/hunter, i.e. Gund-Herr, but AI tells me Herr meant Army. Oh well.
Flavius Josephus (quoting from 3rd century b.c. Egyptian Manetho) says Amenophis (Greek for Amenhotep) was the Pharao of the time of the Exodus, too.
What is your view on Senenmut (Mother's Brother) being Moses, the adoptive son of Hatshepsut, Daughter of Pharao Tuthmoses I?
Josephus tells a lot about the life of Moses in the pharaonic courts. And Senenmut was a very impressive figure as counselor, architect, general, teacher (of Neferu-Re, daughter of Hatshepsut).
Hi. I don't know a lot about the Egyptian successions, but offhand, if Senenmut was the adoptive son of Egyptian royalty, it sounds plausible that he could have been Moses.
Are you German? Your name is. Most of my ancestry is German. Our surname used to be Gu"nther. I don't know why they changed it to Kinder. It sounds kind of similar, but not exactly.

I'm northwest of St. Louis, so Carbondale, IL is southeast from here.
And how's Austria doing?

Very well argued! Thank you.
